National leaders to felicitate TN CM on May 11

Chennai, May 2 (UNI) A galaxy of national leaders, led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Ministers V P Singh and I K Gujral would arrive here on May 11 to felicitate Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi for his golden jubilee in the state assembly.

A host of Union Ministers, including Lalu Prasad, Sharath Pawar, Ram Vilas Paswan, CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat, CPI leader A B Bardhan, PMK founder leader S Ramadoss would be among others to take part in the felicitation programme to be held at the island grounds, DMK General Secretary and Finance Minister K Anbazhagan said in a statement here.

Mr Anbazhagan, who heads the Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee, said though many functions were held to felicitate Mr Karunanidhi for his outstanding contributions in the fields of film and politics, the golden jubilee celebration should turn out to be an unforgettable event for the people of Tamils.

He called upon party cadres and general public to turn up in large numbers to make the function, a grand success and a memorable one.
