NABARD to set up dairy plant in Darbhanga

Darbhanga, May 2 (UNI) National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) today announced to invest Rs 15 crore for increasing milk production in the district.

Addressing a meeting, NABARD general manager Dr C P Apanna highlighted the salient features of the project which includes availability of milking cattles to the farmers and establishment of cottage industries. He said it would start functioning within three years under Swarn Jayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojna and ensure financial assistance for animal husbandry and synthetic pregnancy of cattles to the farmers.

Out of total 15 crore, ten crore would be spent on milk production while rest would go for other related things he added.He said the project would ensure availability of pure milk in the local area.
