HMI transfers spare parts business to Mobis
Chennai, May 2 (UNI) Hyundai Motor India (HMI), the second largest manufacturer of passenger cars in India and the largest exporter, in an effort to concentrate more on its growing vehicle sales business and keeping in line with its global policies, has transferred its spare parts business to its long time business associate Mobis yesterday.
The spare parts business of HMI was also located in Chennai and the human resources included 26 executives and 13 technical staff, a company release here said.
Under the arrangement with Mobis all the executive staff will be absorbed by Mobis with immediate effect under the same terms and conditions.
The 13 technical staff will continue to be employees of Hyundai Motor India and continue to work within the company. This exercise will help Hyundai to consolidate its operation here in India and also lead to better management of the spare parts business.
Mobis is a long time partner and well versed in the business of automotive spare parts with expertise in the area of logistics, stock management operations and efficient delivery systems. HMIL believes that all this will lead to a significant improvement in services for the customers.
Mobis, with 8.8 billion US Dollar turnover, is a 30-year-old company and is also the largest Korean auto spares company and provides spare parts to Hyundai and Kia Motor Company.
