Haryana to open science museums in Sanskriti Schools

Chandigarh, May 2 (UNI) In order to develop scientific temprament among students, the Haryana government has decided to set up science museums in all Government Model Sanskriti Schools of the state.

Haryana Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana said new academic session in Haryana had begun with a special thrust on quality education with the starting of the Sanskriti Model Schools in all the 20 districts of the state.

He said an amount of Rs 50 lakh was spent during the last financial year for setting up of 10 Science Museums in these schools while remaining school labs would be equipped with science museums during the current financial year.

He pointed out that these schools would be helpful in all-round personality development of the rural and urban students.

The wide range of the extra curricular activities like music, drama, art and sports in these schools would go a long way in increasing the creativity of students.

He said these schools had been provided with competent, professional and experienced staff. The schools also aimed at imparting moral education and creating awareness and scientific temprament among the students, he added.

The Minister said all Sanskriti Government Model Schools in the state were being equipped with high-tech infrastructure facilities, in order to compete with the public schools. All these schools are English medium institutions, he added.
