Haryana: Rs 12.79 cr disbursed as unemployment allowance
Chandigarh, May 2 (UNI) The Haryana government has disbursed a sum of Rs 12.79 crore to 25,257 beneficiaries in the state as unemployment allowance during the past one year.
Labour and Employment Minister Birender Singh said a loan of Rs 70.61 crore had also been disbursed among 8465 applicants through various nationalised banks for launching self-employment ventures during the past two years.
The Minister said that Employment Department had launched a special campaign so that employment opportunities could be provided in the private sector.
To fulfil the objective, he said the department had set up Private Placement Service Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonepat, Yamunanagar, Rohtak, Hisar, Panipat and Bahadurgarh.
Mr Singh said private employers had been given the liberty to select the candidates without seniority from the live register of the department.
The persistent efforts of the department had helped in providing employment opportunities to 5708 candidates upto March 31 last, he added.
The Minister said the Haryana Government had also launched a new scheme for providing unemployment allowances to the unemployed person in the state.
Under the scheme Rs 300 to Rs 500 per month were being given as unemployment allowance. He said the department had also made easy the process of registration of those who were interested to work in the private sector.
