Groom's grandfather killed, bride critical in accident

Guwahati, May 2 (UNI) At least one person was killed and ten were injured when a vehicle carrying a marriage party hit a roadside tree near Bhogdoi bridge in Asom's north Jorhat today, police said.

While the grandfather of the bridegroom was killed, the groom his wife were among in the injured list. The Injured were taken to Jorhat civil hospital.

The victims were returning to Tinshukia after solemnising the marriage at Lakhimpur. Seventy-year-old Purnakanta Deuri died on the spot, police added.

The Deuris are residents of Philobari in Tinsukia district of upper Asom.
