Expert Committee to assess need for port in Puducherry

Puducherry, May 2 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today assured that an expert committee would be constituted in a couple of days to assess whether a port is necessary here, Puducherry People's Committee, opposing the port development project here, said.

According to Committee sources, they called on the Chief Minister in his office. Mr Rangasamy told them that the administration would take a decision based on the expert committee's report and there was no need to discuss any other detail about the issue now, they added.
