Elder Healthcare to launch Burnaid in India
Mumbai, May 2: Elder Healthcare Limited, a subsidiary of Elder Group, has joined hands with Australian pharma major Rye Pharmaceuticals to launch a new burn gel ''Burnaid'' in India.
As per the pact, the medicine will be initially manufactured in Australia and will be distributed in India by Elder outlets.
''We expect an annual turnover of Rs 10 to Rs 12 crore in the initial phase and plan to expand the production capacity to India after studying the market pulse,'' Elder Healthcare managing director Dr Anuj Saxena said.
Presently, the company has six manufacturing units in the country located in Mumbai, Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh.
The principal ingredient in ''Burnaid'' is Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Oil) which is a proven natural substance having therapeutic benefits, said Dr Saxena.
Apart from pain generated from burns, the medicine is also useful for bites and stings, rashes, skin irritations and infections. The medicine is priced at Rs 24 for 10 gms gel.
