Vayalar Ravi lays foundation stone of Jai Hind TV studio

Thiruvananthapuram, May 1 (UNI) Union Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi today laid the foundation stone for the studio complex of the new Malayalam TV channel 'Jai Hind' which would be aired by July.

After laying the foundation stone, he said the new channel should telecast programmes maintaininig Kerala's tradition and culture and it should become the ''ambassador of Kerala''.

Stating that the channel would be an independent one, he said clear and concrete views should be included in its programmes.

Pointing out the increasing number of Malayalam TV channels, he said the channel should find a space with various attracting family programmes.

Earlier inaugurating a public meeting, Mr Ravi said the programmes produced by this channel would entertain families.

In his presidential address, KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala said the Jai Hind TV would be a ''new TV channel with a difference''.

Stating that the channel would not be a mouth piece of any political party, he said it would maintain its independent character.

Kerala Education Minister M A Baby inaugurated the News Studio, while noted film maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan released the logo of the TV.
