Rains likely in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jharkhand, Bihar

Pune, May 1 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and coastal Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Laksahdweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and north interior Karnataka.

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and northwest Rajasthan. Heat wave conditions also prevailed in Jammu and Kashmir, some parts of Madhya Pradesh, at isolated places in Vidarbha and at most places in remaining parts of Rajasthan.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh, appreciably above normal in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Karnataka and in remaining parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha.

They were above normal in some parts of coastal Orissa, Saurashtra and Kutch, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and Kerala. They were markedly below normal in some parts of Bihar, appreciably below normal in some parts of Jharkhand and were below normal in interior Orissa and east Uttar Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Bihar and coastal Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers have also occurred at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Chattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka and Kerala.
