I have fulfilled promises: Mulayam
Kaushambi/Bhadohi, May 1 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today claimed he had fulfilled all his promises made for development in the state.
Addressing an election meeting here, Mr Yadav said his party not only made promises, but was also commited to fullfilling these.
''We have worked, we will work and will make no fake promises.'' Mr Yadav criticised BSP, BJP and Congress, saying they have not done any good to farmers and were misleading them.
He blamed the UPA-led coalition at the centre for the sufferings of the masses due to the current spate of inflation.
Mr Yadav called BJP a communal party and alleged that Muslims were being targeted by it for consolidating its vote bank.
''BJP has no scheme for unemployed youth, farmers and businessmen. They first targeted the people of upper caste and now are after Muslims.'' On the issue of reservation, the Chief Minister said Muslims will be given reservation on the basis of their ratio in population.
''Moreover, farmers would get free education and medical aid for their children. People will be provided with dwellings without any bias under 'Lohiya Avas Yojna'.'' Mr Yadav assured the public if his government regained power in the state, no farmer would remain in debt and insurance facility would be rendered to those affected by natural disasters like flood and drought.
The SP chief said UP was the only state, where VAT (Value Added Tax) was not implemented for the benefit of traders.
