BSNL to slash security deposits of mobile connections

Thiruvananthapuram, May 1 (UNI) The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, Kerala circle has decided to reduce security deposits for all new postpaid mobile connections from today.

The deposit for local calls had been reduced from Rs 1,000 to Rs 500, for STD it had been reduced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,000 and ISD from Rs 3,000 to Rs 2,000, a release said here.

It said the revision would be applied only to the new connections and no refund of security deposit would be made for existing connections who had paid higher than the amount prescribed above.

It had been decided to provide the facility of Special Ring Back Tone for international out-roamers. The subscriber who would be travelling overseas could choose this facility by sending an SMS BT 190001 for English and BT 190002 for Hindi to 567, it said.
