Jalandhar, May 1 (UNI) Former Punjab deputy chief minister and leader of Opposition Mrs Rajinder Kaur Bhattal today urged the government to increase the eligibiltiy limit for getting Atta-Dal at lower rates to annual income of Rs 60,000 per household.

Criticising the Akali-BJP government on Atta-Dal issue, Mrs Bhattal, who was here to pay homage to former chief minister Beant Singh on the occassion of May Day, said later at a press conference that Akali-BJP government, which had promised to provide Atta-Dal to poor from Baisakhi onwards, had not even completed the survey.

She urged the government not only to provide Atta-Dal at the earliest but also to increase to eligibility limit from Rs 30,000 to Rs 60,000 for the benefit of poor and lower middle class families as SAD (Badal) had not mentioned the limit criterion in their election manifesto.

She flayed the govenment for cancelling the licenses of the projects sanctioned by the previous government without any solid reasons and for failing to bring any new industry to the state, which she said, would send wrong signals to the new investors.

She also promised to stand behind all the Congress leaders and workers against whom Akali-BJP governemt had registered false cases and advised the govenment to put aside the policy of 'vendetta' and instead concentrate on providing good governance to the people.
