66 injured in road accidents in HP
Mandi, May 1 (UNI) Sixty six people were injured in three separate road incidents in this district of Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours, police sources today said.
Lalit Pathaina, a senior district leader of the BJP, who was strolling in front of his residence, was injured after he was hit by a speeding scooter.
Sources said the injured leader was admitted to Sundernagar Civil Hospital from where he was referred to PGI Chandigarh.
In another incident in the district, 32 people were injured, two of them seriously, after a collision between two private buses at Gutkar, near here, last evening, they said.
Sources said the injured were admitted to a nearby private hospital and regional hospital.
The driver of the bus, who was also seriously injured in the accident, was referred to the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital (IGMC) at Shimla.
Passengers and witnesses said the drivers of both the buses were racing and that led to the accident.
In the third incident, 33 people were injured after a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus crashed into a hill near Sidhkothi in the district, sources said.
Some of the injured were sent home after being administered first aid, while few others were undergoing treatment at PHC Ratti, they added.
