Mercury climbs in MP
Bhopal, Apr 30 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh denizens are experiencing torrid times with mercury shooting up to 43 degree Celsius even as no respite from the rising temperature in the next few days was forecasted.
Regional Meteorological department director D P Dubey told UNI here that heat conditions would intensify in the coming days.
A cloudy sky would be witnessed in the state capital and southern parts courtesy moisture-laden winds blowing from Arabian Sea. However, it would not provide respite from heat.
Scorching heat had claimed one life in Sheopur district in the beginning of April.
Gwalior-Chambal and Hoshangabad divisions were in the grip of 'loo' winds.
Mercury rose to 45 deg C in Hoshangabad, while the state capital recorded a high of 43.4 deg C, breaking the record of maximum temperature in April in the past 10 years.
Streets bore a deserted look and sale of soft drinks had shot up. Vacations in educational institutes are starting from tomorrow providing much-needed to relief to students, parents and guardians.
