Health planning decentralised in Haryana
Chandigarh, Apr 30 (UNI) In order to improve health services in the state, the process for planning has been decentralised in Haryana under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and Village Health and Sanitation Committees (VHSCs) have been involved in formulating need based plans at village level.
''Village Health and Sanitation Committee (VHSC) have been formed in 3670 villages and action plans for nine districts have already been formulated through this decentralised planning,'' Haryana Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Health) Urvashi Gulati said today.
These districts were Gurgaon, Mewat, Faridabad, Narnaul, Rohtak, Sonipat, Kurukshetra, Jind and Bhiwani.
She said VHSC had been identified as the core group at the village level which would play the crucial role of being involved in the planning process and assist in community-based monitoring when the district plans were being implemented.
These district action plans, she said, had been prepared after getting information about needs of the people at the village level.
