AP Govt to appoint more vets: Minister
Machilipatnam, Apr 29 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government will take immediate steps to overcome the shortage of veterinary doctors to help milk farmers in rural areas, Minister for Animal Husbandry M Buddha Prasad said at Avanigadda on late last night.
Speaking at a public meeting, Mr Prasad said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has announced a package of Rs 500 crore during the current financial year to develop animal husbandry in the state.
About one lakh milch cattle and 24,000 sheep would be given to farmers under this package.
Steps would be taken up to uplift fishing community in the state which was severley affected by cyclones and tsunami.
