Youth Congress leaders assauted

New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) Several Youth Congress workers were today seriously injured in an attack allegedly by some ''goons of the Samajwadi Party'' during the campaign for the Uttar Pradesh elections.

According to Indian Youth Congress spokesperson Madhymita Chakraborty, Youth Congress National President Ashok Tanwar and other office-bearers were attacked as their convoy, on its 'Rath Yatra', was travelling from Salimpur and Deoria.

The convoy was also lathicharged, resulting in serious injuries.

They were arrested and taken to Deoria jail, a release said.
