Saroj to lead Haryana in Federation Cup athletics

Chandigarh, Apr 28 (UNI) National Games discus and shot put champion Saroj Sihag has been named captain of the Haryana contingent which will take part in the National Federation Cup Athletic Championship to he held at Kolkata from May 10 to 13, Mr H S Bhadu, Secretary HSAA said here today.

The team was selected during trials held at Chaudhary Bharat Singh Memorial School, Nidani in Jind district on April 21.

The members of the team are: Men: Ajay Kumar, Surendar Singh (100, 200 mts), Jaskaran Singh (800mts), Ajay Rathi and Kuldip Singh ( 20km walk), Joginder Singh (hammer throw), Bhartendar Singh (long jump), Anil Kumar, Om Narain (javelin throw), Digvijay Singh, Rampal (pole vault), Rajesh Kumar (high jump) and V B Gori (3000 m steeple chase.).

Women: Mukesh Rani, Nisha Rani (javelin throw), Seema Antil (Discuss&shotput), Saroj Sihag (discus&shot put) and Suman Baddiwal (hammer throw). Krishan Kumar (coach) and Rajiv Khatri (manager) will accompany the team.
