Rashid's aide picked up in fake passport case
Hyderabad, Apr 28 (UNI) Police have taken into custody an aide of Rashid, one of the main accused in the Babubhai Katara human trafficking case.
According to sources here, the Central Crime Station (CCS) police arrested Prakash Reddy from an apartment located near the MLA quarters last night.
Reddy was allegedly involved in the fake passport case along with Rashid, who is absconding since the trafficking scam was unearthed last week.
Rashid and Reddy were arrested in connection with the fake passport case in 2003 and released on bail the same year.
Reddy, hailing from Nizamabad district, had close links with several officials and politicians and was also involved in real estate business in the city.
The CCS police were grilling Reddy to trace other persons involved in the scam, the sources added.
Two police teams have already left for Bangalore and New Delhi to nab Maksud and Khaled, who were also aides of Rashid.
