Ropar, Apr 28: Ropar Special Judge G S Saran today dismissed the application moved by the prosecution for placing on record the Income Tax (IT) valuation reports of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his family in the disproportionate assets and corruption case against Mr Badal, his wife Surinder Kaur Badal, their son Sukhbir Badal and seven others.

The Judge had reserved his orders on the application for April 18 after hearing the arguments of prosecution and defence counsels on April 10. Since the Judge was on leave on April 18, the case had been adjourned for today.

Meanwhile, Mr Badal has moved an application in the court seeking amendment in the order passed by the court on March 9 for framing of charges against him, before proceedings with the recording of prosecution evidence.

In his application Mr Badal has stated that there were glaring contradictions and infirmities in the orders regarding framing of charges against him which would cause grave prejudice to him in the defence during trial of the case.

The judge adjourned the hearing to May 19 for arguments on the application and directed the prosecution to file reply to the application by May 10.
