Mumbai gem specialists to get training in Bahrain

Dubai, Apr 28: As part of a cooperation programme, pearl and gem specialists from Mumbai will undergo training at the Gem and Pearl Testing Laboratory in Bahrain.

It follows the visit to Bombay Laboratory for Pearl Examination by two officials of Bahrain's Precious Metals and Gemstone Testing Director Ali Mohammed Safer and the Gem and Pearl Testing Laboratory Head Abeer Tawfeeq Al Alawi.

The visit was at the invitation of the Federation of Pearl Traders in Mumbai, an official statement said yesterday.

The Bahrain experts met the pearl traders and explained the importance of screening pearls in scientific laboratories.
