Jaunpur, Apr 28 (UNI) BSP president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati today flayed the Mulayam Singh Yadav-led state government, saying the regime had been marked by a spurt in crime and corruption.

''Congress, BJP and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), who facilitated the formation of Mulayam government are equally responsible for the sorry state of affairs in UP,'' she said, addressing an election meeting here.

She said all the sections of society were facing hardships, while the criminals and mafia were ruling the roost across the state.

''Criminals are roaming scot-free, anarchy is prevalent and no one is safe,'' she highlighted.

Ms Mayawati alleged that Mr Yadav and SP general secretary Amar Singh had amassed enormous wealth, while cases pending against several criminals in UP were withdrawan.

''I promise to order probe in all such cases, if BSP forms the next government...I will deliver the state from anarchy,'' she asserted.

Claiming to be in favour of reservation of Muslims and upper castes, the former UP CM announced her party would support the centre on any such legislation. ''I will also fill the vacant quota seats by launching a special campaign.'' Criticising Congress, the BSP supremo charged the former was responsible for the current spate of inflation in the country.
