ICICI to raise $5 bln, net up 4.45 pc

New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) Leading private sector lender ICICI Bank today posted a net profit of Rs 825.12 crore for the January-March quarter as its board approved raising of five billion dollars through equity share sale.

The bank registerd a net profit of Rs 789.93 crore during the same quarter a year ago, witnessing an increase of 4.45 per cent year-on year.

Total income of the bank increased 54 per cent to Rs 8,495.52 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 from Rs 5,507.45 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006.

The bank recorded net profit of Rs 3,110.22 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 2540.07 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006.

Total income also increased from Rs 18,487.01 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 to Rs 28,923.46 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007.
