Haryana to set up 4 vocational institutes
Chandigarh, Apr 28 (UNI) In a significant move to provide qualitative job-oriented education to students, the Haryana Government has decided to set up four major institutes in the fields of Design and Fashion Technology, Fine Arts, Film and Television and Professional Studies for women in the state.
A decision to set up State Institute of Design and Fashion Technology, State Institute of Fine Arts, State Institute of Film and Television and State Institute of Professional Studies for Women in the State was taken in a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here yesterday.
It was observed in the meeting that it was necessary to set up such institutes because of non-availability of training facilties in these areas and availability of tremendous opportunities for employment in the state.
It was decided that these four institutes would be set up as autonomous institutes on the pattern of National Institute of Fashion Technology, National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, National Institute of Film and TV, Pune and Government College of Art, Chandigarh.
These institutes would be set up at Rohtak where the Haryana Urban Development Authority has earmarked an area of 22 acres in Sector 6 for the purpose. The project would cost about Rs 60 crore excluding the cost of the land.
