Get united, NC patron Dr Abdullah to both faction of Hurriyats
Srinagar, Apr 28 (UNI) Appealing both the faction of the Hurriyat Conference (HC) to get united, National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that nothing has so far been achieved by the dialogue process.
We have been hearing noise from all sides about the Kashmir issue, but practically it has failed to make any breakthrough, Dr Abdullah said during a public meeting held at Sher-e-Kashmir park here under unprecedented security arrangements.
Kashmir is a complicated issue which can be resolved only through meaningful and result oriented dialogue process, he added.
''We have not been able even tp open the roads between the two separated parts of Kashmir, when in Europe, people can move to any part without any restrictions, he said.
Saying that Kashmir is the crown of both the countries, he said his party was in favour of cordial and good relations between India and Pakistan.
The former Chief Minister appealed to the HC faction to get united so that thier voice could be heard.
He also urged people to raise their voice unitedly so that it could be heard and accepted by the authorities.
Opposing the arrest of Syed Ali Shah Geelani as was demanded by some parties in Parliament yesterday, Dr Abdullah prayed for his early recovery.
Mr Geelani had said in the Eidgah meeting what he has been saying for the past, he noted.
He advised Mr Geelani to support the resolution of the Kashmir issue, which is possible so that he (Geelani) could also see it (resolution) during his lifetime.
