Gang planning to indulge in betting on World Cup final busted

New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) The Delhi Police have busted a gang involved in gambling and betting on the World Cup final between Autralia and Sri Lanka and arrested 20 people.

Based on inputs about betting on the World cup final from a house in the Subji Mandi area in Old Delhi, the police arrested 20 people who were gamblers by playing cards.

Interrogation of the persons revealed that they were involved in the gambling business for the last two to three years.

Police said there was evidence to suggest that seven of the arrested had invested lakhs of rupees in the World Cup final match to be played between Sri Lanka and Australia.
