Jamtara, Apr 28 (UNI) A local court today directed the jail superintendents of Dumka and Jamtara to produce medical report of former Union Minister and JMM president Sibu Soren in the next hearing on May 21.

Sibu Soren, an accused of the Chirudih massacre case, had failed to appear before the court for the eighth time consecutively today.

However, Additional District and Sessions Judge (First) Arun Kumar, accepted Soren's request to keep him away from today's hearing.

The JMM president, who is facing life term imprisonment for killing his personal assistant Shashi Nath Jha, was brought to Jamtara from Tihar jail on January five and was shifted to Dumka Central jail for security reasons.

Soren was later on shifted to RIMS at Ranchi after he complained several health problems.

Soren had to resign from the ministry in 2004 after he was accused in the Chirudih massacre on January 23, 1975, in which 11 people were killed.
