Cong meet held in absence of party MPs and MLAs

Ranchi, Apr 28 (UNI) The state level meeting of Congress MLAs and MPs, called today to discuss the functioning of the UPA backed Madhu Koda government of Jharkhand, concluded that they would exert pressure on the state government to work '' more efficiently''.

Congress State President Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu said the state government was not functioning according to expectations of every section, adding that pressure would be built to expedite the developmental schemes.

Mr Balmuchu said Congress would field its candidate in the by-polls for the Daltonganj assembly seat and a consensus would be arrived at among the UPA allies over it.

He added that all leaders including MLAs would also be assigned organisational works.

Besides Mr Balmuchu, the meeting was attended by only three MLAs.

All the six MLAs, including Congress Legislative Party leader Manoj Yadav and six MPs were not present in the meeting.
