Banned poppy cultivation on 375 kanals destroyed in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 28 (UNI) Concerned over the menace of drug abuse, the Jammu and Kashmir government has launched a massive drive against the cultivation of poppy and destroyed banned crops on 375 kanals of land in south Kashmir.
A police spokesman said the drive against the menace of drugs will continue in the entire south Kashmir till the last plant of poppy is destroyed.
He said Poppy Plantation on around 200 Kanals of land was destroyed today at Gulzarpora, Beighpora and Gatdakina in Pulwama district.
Similarly the banned plantation on 175 kanals of land was destroyed at Larkipora, Beigh-Pora and Batpora yesterday.
