ACB conducts raids at SP's residence
Hyderabad, Apr 28 (UNI) Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths today conducted simultanious raids at the office cum residence of Vishakhapatnam Superintendent of Police (SP) JG Murali and unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs 65 lakh.
According to an official release here, the ACB officials conducted raids in the house of the SP and his relatives at Vishakaptanam and Hyderabad.
The raids revealed that the SP possessed gold ornaments, cash worth Rs 1.47 lakh, land properties, plots and investments in real estate and granite industries in Bangalore.
A car and household articles were also seized from his house.
The officials also conducted raids in the houses of rowdy-sheeters and land grabbers, who colluded with the SP in Vishakhapatnam. They recovered many documents pertaining to real estate business.
Two country made pistol and 150 live catridges were found from the house of Bheemili Circle Inspector, who assisted Murali, the release added.
Meanwhile, ACB Joint Director K Sampath Kumar told newspersons at Visakhapatnam that they had received several complaints about disproportionate assets allegedly acquired by Murali.
The ACB team had simultaneously conducted raids at Murali's son Manoj Kiran's residence at Yusuf Guda in Hyderabad and at Kamareddy.
''The search operations will continue for some more time,'' Mr Kumar said.
