34,000 Housing board houses in AP: CM

Hyderabad, Apr 28: Andhra Pradesh Housing Board has taken up construction of 34,352 houses at Tadepalligudem, Guntur, Tenali, Nellore, Kadapa, Adoni, Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal and in Rangareddy district, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said.

Dr Reddy was reviewing the status of housing programme taken up under Raji Gruhakalpa and Rajiv Swagruha schemes yesterday.

Housing officials noted that the builders were demanding additional payment due to price escalation of cement and steel.

Refusing to pass on this additional burden to the beneficiary, the Chief Minister asked the Housing officials to work out details to sort it out. He also asked them to explore the possibility of meeting this addtional expenditure from the Housing Budget.
