3 LeT militants killed, jawan injured in Doda
Jammu, Apr 28 (UNI) Three Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, including two foreign mercenaries, were killed while a soldier received minor injuries in an encounter with security forces today at Desa in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, an Army spokesman said.
Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants at Ghai in Desa, troops of 10 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Jammu and Kashmir police launched Combing and Search Operation (CASO) in the area, Army's XVI Corps spokesman Col D K Badola told UNI.
''During the encounter, which stared this morning, troops killed three LeT militants. One militant was indentified as Musafir Ali, a local while other two foreigners could not be identified,'' he said.
Two AK-47 rifles and .303 rifle, a wireless set, three hand grenades, seven magazines, 127 AK rounds and a large quantity of other incriminating material were recovered from the encounter site,the spokesman added.
