Prof's killing: Witnesses turn hostile
Ujjain, MP, Apr 27 (UNI) Two more witnesses in Professor H S Sabharwal's murder during a college election today turned hostile in a court.
Two class representatives -- Sanjay Singh and Rijwan Nagauri -- were the witnesses who turned hostile in the court of District and Session Judge A K Sharma.
In their statement, both said that they had gone to the college and met the Principal on the day when the student unions election was scheduled.
After the election was postponed, both submitted a memorandum to the Principal and had gone to the Minister of State for School Education to submit a memorandum.
Both stated that they had no knowledge of what happened in the college after they left.
The court declared both the witnesses as hostile.
Peon Mahesh informed the court that another peon was helping Prof Sabharwal to sit on a chair, while he gave him water.
Later, he also went along with the Professor to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Besides, two journalists also recorded their statements.
City Superintendent of Police Manoj Singh, who was present when the incident occurred, the Station House Officer and CID officials had recorded their statements yesterday.
The hearing in the court is in last phases.
Prof Sabharwal died on August 26, 2006, when he was attacked by students irked over postponement of students union polls of Madhav College.
