PMK stages dharna against Palam project

Kuppam, Apr 27 (UNI) Protesting against the recent announcement by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy that Rs 55 crore had been sanctioned for constructing a dam across river Palar here.

A large number of PMK activists staged a dharna at Vaniyampadi in Tamil Nadu, on Andhra-Tamil Nadu border.

The agitators did not enter Ganeshpuram village, the site of the proposed project, police said.

Police pickets were posted as a precautionary measure.
