Hyderabad, Apr 27 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh unit of BJP today demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh must immediately intervene and initiate an out of court settlement between Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh governments on the Babli issue.

Addressing a press conference here, state unit President B Datattreya wanted the Congress Government in the State to immediately convene an all party meeting to chalk out the future course of action in protecting the riparian rights of the state with the Maharashtra Government going ahead with its ''illegal'' Babli project across the river Godavari.

Condemning the arrest of fasting BJP National Secretary N Indirasena Reddy and his shifting to a hospital, he asked the state Government to visit the Babli project site and collect all data regarding water use by the upper riparian state.

He disputed the state government's projection of the Apex court's direction to Mahrashtra not to fix gates as a victory. The state government had not argued the case well resulting in the court permitting the upper riparian state to complete the project.

Referring to the issue of statehood for Telangana, he said the party state executive decided to step up stirs. The party would organise ''Delhi Chalo'' programme seeking the intervention of President A P J Kalam for carving out Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.

On May 13, a conference would be organised in the cultural city of Rajahmundry to give a push for separate Andhra state.

Referring to the Human trafficking case involving leaders of various parties, including the BJP with fake passports, he opined the issue should be dealt with above partylines.

He parried a question on the suspension of senior TRS MP A Narendra saying that ''it is an internal matter of the TRS''.
