Assam Rifles assures justice to victim

Shillong, Apr 27 (UNI) The Assam Rifles has assured that justice would be given to a tribal Kuki teenager, who was allegedly raped by Assam Rifles jawan Nungthui Gangmei at Kotlien village in Manipur's Senapati district last month.

''The court of inquiry is in the way and if found guilty, he will be dealt as per the law,'' Director of Assam Rifles Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh told reporters here yesterday.

Gangmei was allegedly drunk and hit the girl on her head with a stone before raping her.
