3 journalists among 30 injured in Kashmir clash
Srinagar, Apr 27 (UNI) Three journalists and about half a dozen state police personnel were among 30 people injured when police fired teargas shells to disperse demonstrators in the downtown city today.
Official sources said people near historic Jama Masjid, Nowhatta took to streets, in protest against the alleged demolition of a mosque at Hari Parbat, also known as Kooh-e-Maran.
The demonstrators pelted stones and hurled petrol bombs at Nowhatta police station, damaging window panes of the building, a senior police officer told UNI.
Police later burst teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge, to disperse the demonstrators who were also raising pro-Pakistan slogans.
About 30 persons, including half a dozen police personnel, were injured in the stone-pelting.
