Vodadara police in Mumbai to get custody of four robbers
Vadodara, Apr 26 (UNI) Sleuths from the crime branch led by PI Pandya of the Preventive Crime Branch (PCB) today left for Mumbai to get four persons involved in robbing a gold merchant here, on a transfer warrant.
The four accused - Rakesh alias Kamlesh Bachavat from Rajasthan, Vishal alias Suraj, Chauhan from Vasai in Mumbai and George Fernandes alias James, also from Mumbai - involved in the murder of diamond merchant and owner of 'Gujju Jewellers' in Borivali, Bhupendra Mehta a month ago, had admitted that they had robbed another Mumbai-based gold merchant Nikhil Jain.
They said they had looted Jain on April 4 when he and his three friends had rented a room in Suraj hotel here.
The police have recovered around 3.5 kg out of 7.8 kg gold that was stolen, Mr Pandya said.
The police are also looking for another man named Raju, accused in the Vadodara theft case, who is still at large.
