Pradnya Munde denounces younger brother Praveen in court

Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Gopinath Munde's wife Pradnya, who is also Pramod Mahajan's sister, today made a scathing verbal attack on accused Praveen Mahajan and his family while deposing before the court of judge S P Davare.

''Mala courtala kahi sangayche aahe (I want to say something to the court)'', Pradnya requested Judge Davare. Upon getting the court's permission, she launched into a diatribe denouncing her younger brother Praveen.

In her diatribe, Pradnya did not spare even Praveen's wife Sarangi and their children, and said they had survived on her elder brother Pramod's money and yet had killed him.

When Pramod was just 21 years old, he had taken up the responsibility of the family and had raised us with love and care, Pradnya told the court. Pramod had showered more love upon us than our father, she told the court. But this ''ghodya (scoundrel)'', Pradnya told the court while indicating towards Praveen, has killed our brother who was like a diamond.

She did not even spare the media, saying the media's portrayal of Praveen had made him into a hero from a villian. Pradnya continued with her diatribe for 15 minutes.

Earlier, while responding to queries raised by defence advocate Harshad Ponda, Pradnya had brushed off most questions by saying, ''Mala mahit nahi (I do not know)''. The trial, meanwhile, has been adjourned till May 8.
