Hoshiarpur, Apr 26: Police have arrested two unauthorised travel agents on charges of cheating people on pretext of sending them abroad, police today said.

SSP Anita Punj said that Paramjit Singh, of village Bhangala in Jalandhar, was arrested under sections 420 and 406 of the IPC on a complaint filed by one Jasbir Singh of Ravidass Nagar in which he alleged Singh of taking Rs 9.44 lakh for sending his two sons to Italy.

Singh called his sons to Delhi and after a few days sent them back to their home saying that their visa had expired and after getting fresh visas they would be sent abroad.
