Passenger reports missing of gold ornaments, cash at airport

Chennai, Apr 25 (UNI) Gold jewellery worth Rs five lakh and Rs 20,000 cash were reported missing from a baggage of an air passenger at Kamaraj Domestic airport here yesterday.

Police said N J Nicsani, a Salem based textile owner and his wife Yesodha came to the airport to board Delhi-bound Air Sahara flight.

They gave two baggages for security scanning and later when they received the baggage they found that one of the bags was open.

It was found that the gold ornaments and cash were missing from the baggage.

Folowing this, they argued with the CISF authorities and after thoroughly checking the scanner equipments and their realtives' house at Anna Nagar, where they had stayed before leaving for airport, they lodged a complaint with the Airport police, police added.
