NMDC, SAIL, VSP tie-up for steel plant in Chattisgarh
Visakhapatnam, Apr 26 (UNI) The three Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)- National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) and Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP)-have decided to form a joint venture (JV) to set up an integrated steel plant at Chattisgarh.
A VSP release today said the three PSU's have agreed to enter into a strategic business relationship to set up an integrated iron and steel plant with an annual capacity of four million tonnes of annual capacity.
Discussions on the JV that concluded in Hyderabad was attended by SAIL Chairman S K Roongta, VSP Chairman Y Siva Sagar Rao and NMDC Chairman B Ramesh Kumar, the release added.
