Guj: Man files plea in court to get his 'wife' back
Vadodara, Apr 26: A man has filed an application in a lower Vadodara court that his wife, who has been arrested on charges of prostitution, be handed over to him.
The court issued notice to a Nariniketan, where the woman is presently lodged, to bring her to court today for hearing.
Santoor alias Mohammad, in his petition, said his wife Sabina and another woman Asma alias Payal were arrested in February after they had complained against some police officials of sexually exploiting them.
The duo had contacted Detective Crime Branch (DCB) officials and complained that Superintendent of Police B I Patel and some others had exploited them sexually after they were brought here by a couple, who run a beauty parlour.
A FIR was registered against B I Patel and others and the DCB had faxed arrest orders to Surat control, where Patel was posted. As soon as the information of his arrest reached Patel he shot himself with his service revolver. Patel had his own house here and was expecting to come back on transfer from Surat.
