India agrees to Denmark's condition in Purulia arms case

New Delhi, Apr 26 (UNI) India today accepted Denmark's condition that Neil Christian Neilson alias Kim P Davy, prime accused in the 1995 Purulia arms drop case, should not be executed if sentenced to death.

Denmark had put the condition for extraditing Neilson to India to face trial in the case, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

During the intervening night of 17th/ 18th December 1995 an AN-26 aircraft over flew Purulia in West Bengal and air dropped a huge cache of lethal arm and ammunition very near to Anand Marg Head quarter located at Anandnagar.

CBI had charge sheeted 14 accused people including 7 foreigners.

One of the foreigners Kim P Davy who is a Danish Citizen had been located by the CBI in Denmark.
