HC orders probe into complaints against Pak visitor by May 12
Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) The Bombay High Court has asked the Sangli and Mumbai police to decide on the criminal complaint against a Pakistani visitor by May 12.
A division bench of Justices Ranjana Desai and Dilip Bhosale has directed the Sangli superintendent of police and the Mumbai police commissioner to consider the miscellaneous complaints by trustees of the Sangli-based Sufiayyad Mansurulhasan Shah Mehfil Hasani Trust against a Pakistani national, Vasimurrehaman, before May 12.
The trust manages properties earned by late Sufi saint Hasan Shahpir, who was known among his disciples as 'Bade Baba.' His grandson Vasimurrehaman, a Pakistani national residing in Rawalpindi, was appointed as his spiritual heir.
The trustees have filed many complaints against Vasimurrehaman, accusing him of indulging in the affairs of the trust and threatening and harassing the trustees. Besides Sangli, the trust owns property in Mumbai also. There fore the complaints against Vasimurrehaman have been lodged both in Sangli and Mumbai.
While alleging that there was a threat to their lives and also to the trust properties, the trustees had moved the Bombay High Court, seeking a restrainment in the movement of Vasimurrehaman, whenever he visited India. The High Court's observations come in the wake of that petition.
