Karnataka to file clarificatory petition in a couple of days
Bangalore, Apr 25 (UNI) Karnataka will in a couple of days file a clarifactory petition before the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal on the final order announced on Febriuary five.
Briefing newsmen after a cabinet meeting, Home Minsiter M P Prakash said the cabinet cleared the clarificatory petition. The petition would be filed under the Inter State Water Dispute Act, 1956. The State had rejected the tribunal's verdict and would seek clarification on various points including drinking water supply to Bangalore and ground water availability in Tamil Nadu given by the Tribunal.
He said that Tribunal had committed injustice to the state in allocating proportionate share of water.
The cabinet approved the costruction of a complex to house state government offices in Hassan at a cost Rs 5.75 crore besides at the Palace Road at a cost of Rs 20 crore in the city.
It also empowered the Chief Minister to appoint the Chairman for the Karnataka Administration Tribunal.
He said Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy would lay a foundation stone for Rs 75 crore building for India Reserve Battallion at Munirabad in Koppal District tomorrow.
He said that the Battalion would create atleast 1000 posts, he adding that recruitment would begin very shortly.
