Jawaharlal Darda power project of 1,215 MW in Yavatmal

Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) Jawaharlal Darda Yavatmal Energy Ltd and Abhijit industries of Nagpur will jointly start a 1,215 MW thermal project at Yavatmal with an investment of Rs 5,000 crore.

This was announced today by the representatives of the two companies in presence of Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh at Mantralaya.

Vijay Darda, MP, said the project will be able to generate jobs to 2,000 people and the power generation will start in 2010.

The announcement is significant against the backdrop of the power shortage in the state.
