India, Pak to be lenient with ''inadvertent'' infiltrators
Jaisalmer, Apr 25 (UNI) Border Forces of India and Pakistan have decided that infiltrators who cross borders by mistake would be returned after verification and primary investigations.
This was decided at a Deputy Inspector General level meeting held quarterly. This time the meeting was held in Khokrapar yesterday.
The Indian side was headed by Border Security Forces (Gujarat sector) Deputy Inspector General B K Singh while the Pakistan side was led by Sindh Rangers Deputy Director General Brigadier Saiyad Khushnud Hussain.
BSF sources said both the countries decided to be lenient and if a person crossed over into the neighbouring country by mistake, he would be returned to his native land after initial investigations and verification.
The meeting also discussed border management, joint patrolling, and joint border pillar verification issues.
