Agitation continues against Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal award

Mysore, Apr 25 (UNI) Agitation against the final verdict of the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal (CWDT) by the farmers and various organisations continued in the Cauvery basin districts.

In Mandya District, the Cauvery Raitha Hitharakshana Samithi, which is spearheading the agitation, continued agitation through out the district. The agitators detained for some time the Bangalore-Mysore train and blocked the Mysore-Bangalore State highway for some time.

In Mysore, the Pre-University evalutors boycotted valuation work for one hour in Mysore expressing their solidarity with the agitation. They later submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner urging for intervention of the Union Government to solve the issue through negotations.
